Marius du Toit obtained a B.Juris LLB (Unisa) whilst being employed by the Department of Justice as a Prosecutor and Magistrate. He prosecuted in the Regional courts in six of the nine Provinces between 1992 and 1999 in all matters (i.e. murder, robbery and rape, fraud, drug offences, tax fraud, diamonds theft, gold theft, maritime law, Sea Fisheries Act, culpable homicide and motor vehicle offences). He further acted as Magistrate in various courts in the North West and Northern Cape Provinces.
In 1999 he was exempted from performing articles and was admitted as an attorney in 2000 where after he started practising as an attorney in Johannesburg area for his own account. Marius du Toit has been involved in multiple panel discussions for various major television networks. He was part of the Oscar Legal panel (Multichoice), he was interviewed by NBC (USA), BBC (UK), SKY TV (UK), TRTWorld (Turkey), CNN (USA), NZTV (New Zealand), ABC( Australia), Channel 5 (UK) and locally he regularly appears on ENCA, ANN7, KykNET and SABC.
He has also spoken on most of the radio stations in South Africa. He has also acted as a guest lecturer at Bond University on the subject of Criminal Law and whilst still in the employment of the Justice Department he trained young prosecutors in the prosecution of various criminal offences. In 2005 he opened an office in Centurion from where various legal services are now offered.
